From the Ground Up
Although we have grown significantly from our humble dirt floor garage beginnings, luck8 maintains the same philosophy we have had since our start. With help from the luck8 team, Dealer Principal and CEO Chris Milton continues to carry on his family’s legacy of fostering a supportive and collaborative culture for employees and delivering unique solutions to customers.
Chris Milton's father, Jack, learned the ropes of the equipment industry from his father, Milt Milton, at former Massachusetts Caterpillar dealership Perkins-Milton Machinery. The lessons Jack learned later became an integral part of the luck8 philosophy.
In 1960, Jack joined forces with Bill Jordan to acquire the New Hampshire and Vermont Caterpillar territory. The business grew quickly as the partners focused on meeting their customers’ needs and empowering their employees.
Jordan-Milton acquired Southworth Machinery and became Southworth-Milton in 1991. The synergy between the companies took the business to the next level and we quickly became one of the top CAT dealers in the United States. Our name was changed to luck8 after expanding into western New York in 2004. We now have over 1,000 employees and span a six-state territory.
We are extremely proud of how the luck8 family has grown over the years. To learn more about luck8’s journey from the ground up, please watch the video.
